Project: Pottery Tax Assessments (disrupted runtime application)

Technology used: Microsoft Access 97

Description:
Used Access 97 to import and compile property assessment data provided by New York State into a useable format. CD’s were burned for each New York State County containing all residential and commercial properties in the area. An Access 97 front end was developed to read the data on the CD’s, allowing users to easily search the property listings. The application and CD’s contained valuable property information (assessments, sale prices of properties, number of rooms and floors, school district, water and sewer types, etc.) that AllState Appraisal Service resells to individuals and business in the Real Estate/property assessment business.

Description:
Create a distributed packaged application that rates and quotes Automobile Insurance based on the rates published by the NYS Automobile Insurance Plan. The application allows brokers to create quotes, finance agreements, and applications. Once completed, the applications can be uploaded directly to the nypass web-site. The application is a Microsoft Access XP database that runs in Microsoft runtime environment. The application can be run as a standalone application or a network application.

Description:
Support and manage Windows 2003 LAN/WAN network. Manage a mix of 50+ clients PCs consisting of Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, and XP. Manage Windows 2003 Domain servers which included Antivirus, Mail, Print, Terminal, SQL Server, Internet services. Management duties include new user creation, PC/Server configuration, router configuration, software/hardware installations, Switch/Hub/PC/Server maintenance. Provide Help Desk support services to 50+ users from 3 separate locations. Maintain LAN backbone equipment and provide IT planning services on procurement and systems migration/implementation. Help desk services. Provide remote support to 50+ users utilizing Dual Desk, a remote support software solution. Help Desks tickets are logged, managed, and monitor via a web based help desk solution called Autotask (www.autotask.com). Service technicians are dispatched for warranty work and break/fix services. Technical support and general troubleshooting service are provided remotely. A 24/7 answering service is in place to page technicians during weekends, holidays, and after hours.

Description:

Description:
Designed custom reports for MTX Municipal Accounting for Office, accounting software used by towns, villages, and cities in the state of New York. The application was designed for distribution (runtime version of Access), for which an Attached Table Manager had to be designed to attach tables from three different Access databases.

Description:
converted their existing IPX/SPX Novell based network environment to a TCP/IP Windows 2000 server based environment. Installed and configured print servers, high speed cable internet access, POP email accounts, and web-site hosting. Provide the client with a complete redesign of their website using Dreamweaver 4.0. Effectively migrated 3 servers into 1 easily manageable HP Server. Also designed an Access database to store Job History information.

Description:
Revamped an Access 7.0 (95) database used in the color matching process. The database interfaces with several other Access databases to produce custom views and reports. The application was used to log phone calls from customers, schedule projects within the business unit, and produce customer approval letters for mailing. The application also records start/end times of specific processes in the manufacturing process via bar code scanning and entries made in external databases.

Description:
Tested 31 Access 95 and Access 2.0 databases for Year 2000 compliance. Converted 12 Access 2.0 applications to Access 95. Installed and configured Windows NT Server 4.0.

Description:
An Access database extracts information from an Oracle based system and organizes the data into a report format to be used for forecasting purposes. The procedures for extracting the information are correct and information is accurate. Problems arise in the performance and operation of the application. The processing time for updating the information is several minutes long and ties up most of the resources on the PC performing the process. Updating the information often causes the application, and sometimes the operating system, to hang. GEP wishes to eliminate the errors that cause the application to hang and increase the performance of the application.

Description:
Designed an asset management application in Microsoft Access to track computer assets for GE Power Systems. Application was developed for multiple users with a separate front end for each department. The application tracks lease data, asset information, hardware and software information, user and location. The application possesses links to the Human Resource database and the IMS LAN/email account database.

Description:
Created a multi-user application in Access 97 to track billing information. The application assists IHHS in reconciling bulling records for Omedia County Foster Care Program. The database produces a variety of reports required by the county and New York State Education Department. The application also produces an export file of billing records which is electronically imported into the KIDS system (a DOS based application belonging to NYS Education Department). The application contains custom functions that ensure data entry and automates reconciliation. A setup program was created to install the application, shortcuts, and Active X controls on the User’s PC

Description:
Foster Care Data Reporting Application designed in Access 97 which create a variety of reports used to reconcile transactions between NYS Education Department and the Onedia County. The application encompasses data from 10 diffeent years and contains over 30 exception reports.

Description:
Developed and designed a Web Site for the Internet Commerce Association (ICA). FrontPage and Visual InterDev were used as development tools. The site includes Active Server Pages (ASP), ActiveX controls, VB Script, and ODBC calls to Access Databases. Current enhancements consist of a Chat room, upsizing the Access databases to SQL Server 6.5, and implementing E-Cash (Internet credit card acceptance software).

Description:
Developed a series of Microsoft Access databases for the Sales/Property Tax Department. A master database was created to house all the data and contain queries and macros for administration purposes. The second database tracks sales tax returns, payments, prints reimbursement reports, creates check requests, automates sales tax reports, and features an Accounts Payable upload to Quicken. A similar database exists for the property tax side, tracking returns, assessment dates, and features an AP upload and Accounts Receivable export to the McCue Leasepak system. Conceptualized and produced a combined system of tracking and storing property tax bills, utilizing a scanner and linking to current property tax management system. The application is an Access database that uses ODBC drivers that link to a FoxPro 2.6 database. Primary person responsible for administering PTMS (Property Tax Management System) software used for property tax reporting. Duties included extracting lease information off the McCue system using Round Trip and Microsoft Access, reformatting, and importing into PTMS. Also completed the initial set up and updating of depreciation tables. Initiated the use of AP/AR export functions by developing applications to interact with PTMS exports. Responsible for the configuration, setup, and administration of CORPSales, software used to process sales tax returns. Duties included mapping state returns for three leasing companies, assigning user rights and privileges, and importing monthly sales tax reports. Created an Access 2.0 database that cleaned up files from three different systems and merged them into one file. This file was then imported into PTMS for property tax filing purposes.

Description:
Installed Windows 2000 Domain Server with Microsoft Exchange, Internet Information Services (IIS), and Terminal Server. Wired the building with Category 5 cabling, installed patch panel, racks, switches, routers, and UPS. Configured LAN router and wireless access point. Implement network security via routers, Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, and business procedures. Installed Kyosera printer, copier, fax and scanner used for printing and scanning. Installed and configured several HP Laser printers. Provide on going services though help desk support and equipment maintenance. Provide network maintenance via backup services, patch installations, and network monitoring. Maintained computer asset records and was responsible for the procurement of additional computer/network hardware and software.

Description:
Built their custom Course Management System in MS Access XP and SQL Server 2000. The application tracks students, courses, and registrations. The business critical application produces a variety of reports and contains many functions such as: invoices, course completion certificates, Department of State reports, enrollment/registration forms, and income reports. The application also contains web upload that allows users to search available courses and register online. Other services for Manfred included Cat 5 wiring of facility, network integration of a Windows 2000 server w/ Exchange and Terminal Services, VPN and wireless setup.

Description:
This online application is written in HTML & ASP (VB Script). The application delivers online real estate continuing education courses to students. The application included a shopping cart, SSL Security, Access Database back-end, ASP front end. Responsible for the entire project - from conception to the final product. This online course delivery system is utilized by 6 NYS Approved Real Estate Schools. As of December 2005, more than 1,100 students have enrolled in over 1,500 classes.

Description:
Implemented a LAN/WAN solution between 2 sites in Rotterdam Junction, NY. Installed and configures a Windows 2000 server, 10 Windows 2000 Professional Client PCs, and 8 Windows 98 Client PCs. The sites contain a T1 Point-to Point connection that utilizes Cisco 1700 Routers. Configured POP email accounts, high speed cable internet access, tape back-up, NAV Corporate edition, and Symantec PCAnywhere 10.5.

Description:
Developed an Access 97 application used in the Regents Testing program. The application assigns schools to regents tests, provides packing slips, contains school participation request forms, prints mailing labels, and has a variety of summary reports. The application allows users to easily track the testing process, allows for easy customization of reports, and contains an import function.

Description:
Created an Access XP application (VR Beta System) for the VendRep unit of NYS OSC’s Bureau of Contracts. The Application is critical to the VendRep Operational Team. It utilizes MS Access Security and is used by 10+ simultaneous users. The application interfaces with BOC’s Contract Management System (CMS) via an Oracle ODBC connection. Information is downloaded from CMS into the VR Beta System. Contracts are assigned to VR Auditors for Vendor Review. The application tracks the review process as it moves from Auditor to Approver, to Workflow Coordinator. The application has a variety of reports which generate from both the VR Beta System and the CMS System. Utilized both Crystal Reports and InfoMaker to create SQL for a variety of Processing Time Reports.

Description:
Developed several custom applications for Power Technologies Inc., an international utilities consulting firm, headquartered in Schenectady, New York. Features of the application includes: automation of monthly financial reports (Income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow report); tracking of employee hours and interdepartmental transfers; and projecting project forecasts. The applications require extracting data from an Oracle database. Later enhancements to application included upsizing to SQL server and placing data on the Internet.

Description:
Converted and enhanced an Access 2.0 database to an Access 8.0 (97) application. Enhancements include custom help files and run-time ability. The application is used by Utility and Power companies to track and analyze power outages and disturbances. This application provides statistical data and reports to help power companies and World Countries improve their electrical power system.

Description:
Developed an Access database that resides on a Citrix Server, which allowed the budgeting department to create their 2002 Annual Budget. The application contains it own security module and automatic update functionality. The Budget Database splits a Master database file up into about 20 separate databases, 1 for each department. Each department updates their perspective database, and then the data is merged back into the Maser File so it can be imported into the schools primary accounting system.

Description:
Converted a PFS database program to Access 97. The database tracks teacher contract information, legal expenses and yearly survey information. Information from the PFS system was exported as text files, then imported into Access where the information was cleaned up before finally be uploaded into the new Access database.

Description:
Created a Sick/Vacation time tracking application in Access 97. The application calculates and tracks employees’ available sick and vacation hours throughout the year. A variety of reports were designed including an Attendance report, vacation schedules, weekly overtime and current pay rate listing. Addition functionality included a vacation scheduling module, seniority calculation feature, sick time carry over procedure and a general wage increase module. Data from a dBase database was normalized and imported into the Access application.

Project: OSHA Incident Reporting Application

Technology used: Microsoft Access 97

Description:
Creates an Access 97 appellation which records Job Related Incidents (Injuries/Illnesses). A stand-alone appellation allows individual sites to record their information and automatically email the information to headquarters. A management module resides at corporate HQ, which complies all the individual site data for reporting purposes. The application calculates OSHA Incident rates and has a variety of graphs and reports. The application uses contains Active-X controls, Graphs, and an Auto-Export feature.

Technology used: Microsoft Access 97

Description:
Pull Data via ODBC from HP server and create Order Trend Charts. Client currently manually inputs the data from daily reports into an Excel spreadsheet. The charts are monthly order for exports, domestics, affiliates and grand totals. The information should be stored in Access tables, a form needs to allow users to build custom queries.

Description:
Converted a dBase II cataloging sytem to Access 97. The application tracks equipment parts/vendors and produces a catalog for the machine operators. A dynamic searc engine allows users to easily query the infromation in the database.

Description:
Developed an Access 97 database to track title searches preformed by the company. This information is entered into the Access application then faxed to clients in custom report format. The application has increased the number of searches processed by an employee per day by 100%.

Description:
Design a Web Based project tracking system for Six Sigma Projects. The application resides on an Oracle 8.0 server and an IIS 5.0 server. Active server pages (ASP) are used to add, update, and view information stored in the Oracle database. An Access front end was also designed to allow a Database Administrator manages users, data, and design custom reports. The application is used by over 100 users across the US and overseas.

Description:
An Access database retrieves information from JDEdwards and creates Bills of Lading, which are emailed to clients and transferred via FTP to the Union Pacific Railroad for processing.

Description:
An Access Database that manages SII’s railcar fleet for multiple sites at multiple plants. The application pulls open purchase and sales orders from JDEdwards and allows users to assign Rail Cars to the order. The database pulls daily Rail Car scans via FTP from a national rail car reporting agency, so users can track the current location of the rail car. The application is a business critical application and the primary operation tool used by SII’s OPD and Logistic departments. The database resides on a Citrix Server and also incorporates a Bar Code Scanning design using Symbol Technologies’ MCL tools.

An Access database that calculates the quarterly pricing adjustments to SII chemical divisions products, based on changes in Raw Material prices. The application creates a price change report and custom letters to notify customers’ purchasing department of the update price.

Description:
Installed and configured Novell NetWare Client 2.5 on 3 PC’s. Developed an Access 97 application which uses ODBC to connect to a Btrieve reservation database (LandMark). The application tracks charter club points, prints monthly score cards for customers, and produces a mailing list (the Charter Club program rewards preferred customers points which can be redeemed for meals, rooms, etc.).

Description:
Developed an Access 97 application which tracks Asbestos case information. The application captures contact & case information and tracks the process of the Asbestos case process. Financial reports are generated from case settlement information to assist in bookkeeping.

Description:
Access 97 Application used by Law Firm to track Clients and Case Information. The application uses the Data Outline Active-X control for its main interface. This multi-user application contains auto case numbering features, label generator and automates entries of contact information.

Description:
Created 4 custom reports in Access 97 from the MTX Municipal Accounting for Office. Reports included an Operating Statement Summary, Operating Statement Detail, and 2 payroll summary reports.

Application includes a Phone Log module, Letter Mailing and Tracking function and photo storing ability. Advance functionality automates the printing of letters and mailing labels based on a schedule created by the end user.
